In Durham the locals talk Geordie and footpaths are called “The black” – referring to the tarmacadam. Although the path to this view view is gravel in places and although there is no tarmacadam in sight it’s still called “gannin to’top o’black” - where you see Tanfield church tower with Stanley on the skyline.More pictures of Tanfield by Mobscooter...
