Description

Pascoe's Shaft

SW676395- This finds us at Pascoe's shaft of the Wheal Frances sett of the Basset's mines. The whole area here is very dense with mining remains (all part of The Cornwall and West Devon World Mining Heritage Site ). See further picture to follow showing the Basset Monument.

This tranquil scene must at one time have been bustling with activity. The conditions can't have been easy for the miners, and the contribution of their labour must never be forgotten.

Excellent image Vince, I think the fence/gate in the foreground help make this picture. Well framed with the trees too.
