About Hall Dunnerdale

Scenery does not come much finer than the scenic beauty surrounding the Valley of the River Duddon where you will find the delightful hamlet of Hall Dunnerdale.

This is an area beloved by walkers and nature lovers. It is a lonely, unspoilt landscape of towering moss and heather clad hills, sparkling little streams and pewter tarns. On the opposite side, overlooking the cascading Duddon, lies the lovely Seathwaite Valley with its panoramic views of The Old Man of Coniston, Seathwaite Tarn and Levers Water.

Hall Dunnerdale has a scattering of typical Lake District stone cottages, some now altered to provide comfortable holiday cottage accommodation for holidaymakers and weekenders.

The area offers a pleasant pub, The Newfield Arms, for ales and refreshments and is central for visiting one of England's most beautiful coastlines. The Hardknott Pass, where you can see the remains of a Roman fort is just a short drive away.

Highlights of the region include Coniston Water and Lake Windermere, both idyllic sailing destinations surrounded by magnificent scenery.
