About Halsway Manor
Halsway Manor is unique residential Folk Centre set on the southern slopes of the Quantock Hills in West Somerset. Set in grounds with formal gardens and wild areas, with wonderful views across to the Brendon Hills, a truly beautiful place. The Manor, which is mentioned in the Doomsday Book, was at one time used by Cardinal Beaufort as a hunting lodge and thereafter a family home until the mid 1960's.
The entrance hall with its oak panelling, impressive staircase and very fine barrel ceiling has a wonderful fireplace which welcomes our guests with a huge log fire on chilly days. From our comfortable panelled lounge you can open the secret door in the panelling and you are in the library with its magnificent plasterwork ceiling.
First and foremost Halsway Manor is a folk centre, where, each year many hundreds of people come to dance, play music, sing and enjoy the ambience of the house. The Manor also caters for weddings, private parties, banquets and dinners.
The Manor is open all the year round. You will find it just off the A358 Taunton / Williton road, just past Crowcombe. The staff welcome you to share the friendly atmosphere of this old traditional Somerset Manor House
