About Ingoldmells
This is the place Billy Butlin chose as the site for his first holiday camp which opened its doors for the first time in 1936, he had been attracted by the high sunshine record of the region. Today the sun still shines and Butlins Family Entertainment Resort continues to attract visitors with a wide choice of entertainment in the new Skyline Pavilion where you can sample the pleasures of variety shows and street theatre.
Also on offer is Fantasy Island, a theme park set beneath an all weather pyramid where you can enjoy the Millennium Roller Coaster, said to be the longest of its kind in Europe. In the park you can also enjoy Europe's largest seven day market.
Ingoldmells offers an exciting traditional sea-side holiday, it has a good beach which is safe for bathing, and in the hinterland there is a great choice of caravan and camping parks for families.
For those that require less exotic entertainment and a quieter time, both lakeside and sea fishing are available. On the outskirts of Skegness there is a golf club.
