I have never studied ancient history so I can only take a wild guess.

O  stands for Octavian who was Gaius Julius Octavius or Augustus .The next emperor of Rome was Tiberius.

You are well on the right track here Ken. O is indeed for Octavian (Octavius). He did became Augustus the first Emperor. But look at the other initials in both sequences. I am looking at a period before the first Emperor. 

Two of the people are very famous.

John you are so close, you are just are just one name short.

1st Triumverate of Rome. Caesar, Crassus and Pompey.

2nd Triumverate or Rome. Mark Antony, Octavian and who ?

Well I know nothing about Rome so 'cheated' with Google

Did think of Sid JamesWink but think it is  Marcus Amelius Lepidus ??? Would never have got that in a year of Sundays without googling

You got it Dave well done, I didn't really expect anyone to get this without Google. I was just looking for Lepidus, going on the names they are mainly referred to in history rather than their full names. They are the six men who made up the 1st and 2nd Triumverate of Rome.
