I've just been watching the news, and hear about a huge storm hitting the Phoenix area, and can't help but wonder if our dear Ruth is doing OK.

Prayers going up for you  .

I'm fine, Sue and Wolf - Thanks!!  Yes, we had a pretty severe thunderstorm last night - a lot of damage from snapped trees, fallen power lines, etc.  Most of it was in downtown Phoenix and Tempe, which are about 15 miles from me.  We had a lot of rain and lightning at my house, and the power went off about 12:30, but I slept thru most of it.  That's the way all the rain we get in summer comes in - afternoon and evening storms, probably the same for you, Sue.  I think the whole intermountain west is like that.  But considering we only get about 2" of rain in the summer, and this year we've gotten 5", I'm not complaining.

I think the place that needs prayer now, Sue, is the gulf coast.  Looks like Gustav has taken a bead on Louisiana, with landfall on Monday morning as possibly a Category 3 hurricane.  Of all the places they don't need it......

Glad you are safe Ruth.

We are expecting a real thunder storm here on Sunday. If nothing else, it may clear the air.

Hi Ruth, glad you had no trouble from the storm. My brother lives in Chandler. Are you near there?
