About Rhyl

This resort is dominated by a golden sandy beach running from the mouth of the River Clwyd to Prestatyn, making it a perfect summer place for families to enjoy seaside fun, sunbathing and swimming.

Foryd Harbour is the oldest part of the seafront, here visitors can enjoy seeing visiting yachts, fishing boats land a feast from the sea, or board one of the small craft leaving for a pleasurable fishing trip. Beyond the harbour lies a mixture of buildings, a jumble of ancient and modern where sedate Victorian hotels rub shoulders with funfairs and entertainment arcades.

The wide seafront with gardens gives way to a host of family attractions including the Rhyl Promenade Land Train which runs from Rhyl Suncentre to Ocean Beach Funfair. A ride on this presents the ideal opportunity to see all the resort has to offer. The range is great, there is a sealife centre, fun-maze, children's village with Carousel rides, Vintage car rides, Ice Cream Parlour, American Diner and Pizza Place. There is a sports centre with indoor swimming pool and other sporting facilities.

Away from the front there is a busy shopping thoroughfare with plenty of souvenir shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes. Many of the old streets still show the character of the town as it was in the days before and immediately after the Second World War, you only have to peer above crowded shop windows to see delightful Victorian and Edwardian architecture.

Country lovers are well provided for, in the hinterland beyond the town there remain old Welsh villages to explore, coastal walks and country trails, and from Prestatyn you can join Offa's Dyke Path taking the walker through lovely scenery to Chepstow in South Wales.

For those wishing to stay there is a range of holiday accommodation to suit all tastes, this includes caravan and camping parks, bed and breakfast, guest houses, inns and family run hotels.
