Join the mighty Ermine Street Guard for Roman Military displays in the arena
The highlight of the event will undoubtedly be the display of a fully authentic recreated roman chariot! Also see Romano British Cavalry with The Troop, a duo of mounted cavalry soldiers demonstrating a variety of weapons.
The Vicus, a well established roman re-enactment group will be providing living history – There will be a living history encampment where visitors can find out about the lifestyle and customs of the period including cookery, weaving, stone carving, fashion, mosaic making and games.
Witness projectile displays such as archery, sling shot and javelin as Britons and Romans go head to head in the main arena.
Children will have the chance to take part in a kiddie drill with shields, spears, swords and tunics and watch fascinating demonstrations including the making of roman pottery.
