Village boasts tennis court, golf course, village shop selling food & essentials, small art gallery, two excellent hotels, both serving bar and restaurant meals. Interesting church with monastic ruins. 4 miles for scenic Settle to Carlisle railway station. Ideally situated for exploring Lake District and North Yorkshire Dales.
