About Kings Lodge Hotel
Kings Lodge Hotel, with its prestigious Knight's Restaurant, is set in the heart of Durham City. A site which once echoed to the sounds of battle now provides a setting for comfortable and tasteful residence. Kings Lodge stands at the South East entrance to Flass Vale, an urban nature reserve on the edge of the site of the famous battle of Nevilles Cross at which, in 1346, the invading army of King David of Scotland was beaten off by English troops led by Ralph Neville and Henry Percy. A site which once echoed to the sounds of battle now provides a setting for comfortable and tasteful residence, fine dining accompanied by an amazing wine list, a cosy traditional bar, and quality afternoon teas. The hotel opened in August 2000, but its guest list already contains the names of celebrities from stage and screen. The Kings Lodge is the place to be seen in Durham City.
