White Lion, Ambleside The White Lion pub in the centre of Ambleside serves a fairly good selection of beverages combined with good 'pub grub' at very reasonable prices. We had Christmas Lunch there back in 2010 and it was absolutely spot on at only £35 each which we thought was very good value. Sheila's Cottage Ambleside Sheila's Cottage one on many eating establishments in Ambleside and one we have to experience. No ridiculous prices neither looking at the menu board here...Home made Snake and Pygmy pudding with mash and veg £9.95 which is very reasonable to my mind. Must try it out! Ambleside residents This is definitely aimed at the 'aaaahh' vote. A family of sheep in a small field off Lake Road as I was making my way to the Golden Rule. Just as I was taking a few pics and old boy came out of one of the houses nearer the field and beckoned me closer to get better pics. Stood talking to him for 20 minutes or more. Classic British car in Ambleside You don't get much more British than a Morgan. Ideally suited to the Lake District roads, light, nimble and not exactly lacking in power!
