Hi,

I am Martha from Alabama.  I will be travelling to England next summer and I like looking at the lovely photos here.  My choir is touring and we will be singing at Canterbury, Bristol and Gloucester cathedrals.

I have loved England ever since hearing the Narnia stories as a child; then the Beatles; and I majored in English Literature in college.

Anyway, I am glad to be here and talking to all of you.

Hi Martha, a very warm welcome to POE (Pictures of England).  I hope that you will be able to do a little sightseeing in between your Cathedral commitments.  Although they are very beautiful Cathedrals that you will be singing in.

Hi Martha, welcome to POE from Anna and Ron. I met C S Lewis as a ten year old boy and operate a tour here in Oxford, where he is barely recognized! How shocking is that?

Anyway, enjoy this fabulous site and it's wonderful, caring members.

Hi Martha, and welcome to POE!  I'm an Alabamian too (Birmingham), although I now live in Virginia.  Your tour sounds very exciting.

Thanks everyone!  I can't wait to get there!  We will have side trips to Bath and Wells, and to Glastonbury!  Since I have already seen some of London, I might go exploring while the others are looking around London the first day.  I am also hoping we can get to Oxford, but I don't think there is enough time.

We will stay most of the time in Cheltenham, in a Holiday Inn, of all things!  I wanted something quaint!

I want to live there, not just visit.  It would take me years to see all the things I want to.
