Budget Day - Politics have been banned on the site forum, but it doesn't stop us dreaming about what would help us most, and what the CoE might do on the day.

Any ideas dear POE friends, what about cutting value added tax for a start?

The new Married Couples Tax Break for FY 2015 -2016 will allow a spouse who is not making use of their Tax Allowance to transfer £1000 of their Tax Allowance to their tax-paying spouse. For the basic-rate taxpayer, this is a saving of £200. But my wife costs me more than £200 a year, so why not a bigger tax break Mr Osborne ?
