The oldies here may remember him in 60's bands such as The Nice and ELP. I particularly remember his skill at transforming the sound of the Hammond Organ from a cheesy pop sound to a wailing progressive rock sound. As a Hammond devotee myself, I was amazed how he could throw the L-100 around stage whilst playing from inside the organ case. I know from personal experience how weighty these instruments are, so it was an impressive feat. He was also an accomplished performer of classical keyboard. A great genius indeed, now silent. |

Another musical talent who will be sadly missed. |
