I have just returned from our local store where having met an old ferreting mate who said he had been out this morning.

He came back with nine rabbits, whereas normally he would expect to catch anything up to 50 or 60 at a time, "but there are literally hundreds lying around drowned after the floods" he said.

Obviously this doesn't only apply to Rabbits so Natures way of dealing with pests maybe? Lets face it, if we can't swim against the torrents of water, what chance have the animals got?

This was quite a common thing yrs ago with Rabbits--when we went out after them we found many drowned due to the re-routing of streams and brooks--
