Chimney's for large crows

This my dream house, in Eskdale. If anybody can tell me why a modest house would have such large chimneys

Perhaps the original inhabitants were very skinny and needed lots of heat to be warm. Or ... they baked a lot of bread. LOL. Lovely shot.
