Winters Gibbet

Winters Gibbet is located high up on moorland at the side of the road from Elsdon to Morpeth. William Winter was hanged in Newcastle for the murder of Margaret Crozier in 1791. His body was brought here and hung up until it rotted away. It is said that Winters Ghost now haunts the moors around the Gibbet. WOooooooh ahhhhh.

And amazingly lifelike rubber severed heads for Halloween parties can be acquired from thelaughingstock.co.uk (not connected to the business, holding a party for my daughter)

As soon as I saw this I figured there must be some kind of gruesome history attached to it. Thanks for the info.
