The hotel was fully refurbished in 2005. The Boathouse is situated in the heart of The Stour Valley, on the banks of The River Stour - an area of outstanding natural beauty. The ancient market town of Sudbury is just a few minutes away, along with many pretty villages, historic towns and cities (such as Lavenham, Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge and Ipswich). Whether here for leisure or business purposes, there is something to suit everyone! The Boathouse was reopened in June 2005 after major renovation and redevelopment works.The hotel is privately owned and operated and aims to provide a high standard of service in a relaxed and friendly environment. The overall feel is contemporary and there are currently four double bedrooms available, all with en suite facilities and picturesque views overlooking the river and meadows. Other features include tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, colour tv, alarm clock and complementary toiletries. A full English breakfast is also included in the room rates. In addition, the Grill Room and Bar offers contemporary food and surroundings, where you can equally enjoy a light snack or full three course meal. Morning coffees and afternoon teas are also available. Outside there is a large terraced area for when the weather is warm and you wish to eat or drink 'al fresco'. For those who are feeling adventurous, there is an option to hire out a rowing boat and take in the sights from the water. There are also many walks, cycle routes and fishing areas close by. Please note that the bar/restaurant is closed on Sunday nights and all day Monday and Tuesday through the winter. The establishment is non smoking throughout. We do not operate a 24 hour reception.
