Immerse yourself in the 40s with a long weekend of living history, performance and nostalgia. Various Home Guard soldiers train on the lawns of Brodsworth alongside the soldiers of the East Yorkshire Regiment and the costumed actors of the household do their bit. Demonstrations of wartime fashions, Air Raid Precautions, ration book cooking and even wartime falconry fill the grounds whilst the master of the house looks for recruits for the Brodsworth Home Guard. 40’s music also adds to the atmosphere. This event ties in with the new exhibition inside the Hall – The Country House at War.
