About Bath Museum of Costume
Bath museum of costume is a great experience, especially for anyone interested in either history or fashion. The collection focuses on fashionable dress for men, women and children from the late 16th century to the present day. The Museum of Costume was opened in the Bath Assembly Rooms in 1963, and now has over 30,000 objects in its collection. They display about one tenth of the collection at a time and the displays are changed regularly. Objects not on show can be viewed by appointment. The light in the museum is very dim as light and dust are the two main things that destroy fabric over time.
