About Holmwood House Hotel

Backing onto a pretty square in York, Holmwood House is part of a grade II-listed, early Victorian terrace of houses. It has been lovingly restored to retain the ambiance of a private home, providing elegant rooms in which to relax. We have a comfortable sitting room with an open fire, where you can browse the information about York. Breakfast is our speciality, with a wide selection including Craster kippers. We can also cater for special diets by arrangement. Holmwood House is west of the city walls, which are just a short walk away. The wonderful York Minster and The Shambles, as well as the Jorvik Viking centre, the Railway Museum and many other attractions, are within easy walking distance. We are also conveniently located for the railway station, for easy access to the Yorkshire countryside and for Scarborough and Whitby, the beaches at Filey and Robin Hood's Bay, the uplands of the Wolds, the Moors and the Dales. Please be aware that the hotel has no lift.
