At this welcoming family-run guest house in a peaceful rural setting, the Towning family offer comfortable and well appointed rooms with good home cooking using locally sourced ingredients. This award winning country house provides the ideal location for holiday and business visitors, including those with limited mobility. Situated in 24 acres of gardens, paddocks, woodland and lake (free coarse fishing for guests) with uninterrupted views across open countryside, Elmfield House offers a relaxing place to stay and is in a great location for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and Moors, local markets, racing at Catterick, Ripon and Thirsk and some of the best walking in North Yorkshire. Start your day with a hearty Yorkshire breakfast and wind down in the evening with a drink from our selection of wines and beers and maybe a walk to the lake and woodland to see the wildlife and immerse yourself in the tranquillity that is the hallmark of staying here. You can say hello to the friendly horses, sheep and hens on the way. All meals are made from locally sourced, home produced and, where possible organic, ingredients. Evening meals are available by arrangement only at the time of booking. Please phone to make sure meals will be available on the days you are staying.
