About Chelsea Cottage

Chelsea Cottage is peacefully situated with a stunning panoramic view overlooking the English Channel. It is comfortable and well-equipped having recently been completely renovated and furnished to a high standard.
It is ideal for those wishing for a relaxing holiday, and and there is a good collection of books and literature about the Isle of Wight. The safety features, such as the two stair-gates and socket covers makes it very suitable for families with young children. A travel cot, high-chair and booster seat are provided and there is a good selection of games and toys. Wifi is available.
There is on-street parking, and has the library and two convenience stores nearby. The main Ventnor shops are about five minutes walk away. Fresh seafood is available daily at the local harbour and there are some excellent restaurants and family-friendly pubs within walking distance.
The local beaches can be reached by pleasant walks along the cliffs and the seawall. It takes about 10-15 minutes to walk to Ventnor beach and about the same time to Bonchurch beach. From both these beaches there is good safe bathing, with a lifeguard on duty at Ventnor beach during the season. There are delightful walks from Ventnor through the wooded landslip to Shanklin, along the coastal path towards St Catherine's Point, and up to St Boniface Down, the highest point on the Island.
Within easy reach of Ventnor there are many lovely beaches, varied walks, and lots of places of interest to visit as well as fun-packed venues such as Blackgang Chine and Robin Hill theme parks. Cycling is good, and bikes can be hired and delivered to the cottage.
The cottage can easily be reached by public transport, and the Island network of buses makes a car-free holiday very feasible. The bus service from Ryde Esplanade station, also serving Shanklin station, stops close to the cottage.
The double bedroom has a spectacular sea view, and the second bedroom has bunk beds and a single bed. The bathroom has a bath and shower.
The living room and conservatory have now been made into one good-sized room, which has a clear view of the English Channel. It is comfortably furnished with a double sofa bed, and has TV, DVD player and a radio/CD player.
The dining room seats 6 comfortably and the kitchen is well-equipped, with a new electric cooker and washer/dryer and microwave.
French doors open onto two small patio gardens, both of which are fenced in. There are a garden table and chairs on the top patio and the sheltered lower garden has a garden seat and washing line.
The heating is by new electric radiators, and an air-cooling fan is provided. Bed-linen is provided, but guests are asked to provide their own towels.
Short breaks and flexible start dates are available outside of the main summer season.
We are sorry that we are unable to accept pets.
Smoking is not allowed in the cottage.
The stairs in the cottage are quite steep, but there is a hand-ra
