Parkwood Hotel4 Stanhope Place, Marble Arch, Marylebone, Greater London, EnglandAbout Parkwood HotelSurely occupying one of the best locations in London, The Parkwood is a gracious, small hotel. Though only five minutes walk from busy, noisy Marble Arch and Oxford Street, it is a world away. The Parkwood is located on a quiet street which opens on to all the splendour of Hyde Park. Buckingham Palace is just a short stroll across the park and we are also within walking distance of theatres, shops and tourist sites. The front door opens into an attractive hallway and thence the charming lounge with its pink sofas, plants and candy-striped wallpaper. Many of the bedrooms have recently been re-decorated with pretty papers and prints and all have satellite television, radio-alarms and tea/coffee makers. Some rooms are non-smoking. Bathrooms are nice, though a little old-fashioned, having tubs and hand-showers, not power showers. The Parkwood is under the same ownership as the Edward Lear, as one notices by the same coral walls in the breakfast room, the hand-written menus exhorting one to eat, relax and enjoy, and even the artists' gallery of paintings by visiting children. This is deservedly a very popular small hotel, so we urge prospective visitors to book early if possible. We offer budget prices that are surprisingly low for such a good location and include a full English breakfast, tax and service.
