About Garden Flat

Set in the beautiful countryside of the Peak District National Park, the Garden Flat is part of a large country mansion built in 1861 by a local family who made their fortune from cotton.
The Garden Flat is self-catering holiday accommodation that is part of the lodge gatehouse which dates back to 1891. It stands in 5 acres of pleasant park-like grounds at Moorfield House.
The Garden Flat is a conversion of adjoining outbuildings at the rear of Moorfield Lodge. With free wifi broadband access, it is centrally heated throughout and affords magnificent views across fields to the nearby Pennine hills. The main living space comprises a lounge area with a sofa, easy chair, table and 4 chairs, colour digital TV/DVD player, radio/CD/cassette player and a modern kitchen with microwave/oven, washer/drier, dishwasher, fridge and all the usual kitchen equipment and utensils. The bedroom has a double bed, chest of drawers and wardrobe. The tiled en-suite bathroom has a WC, basin and shower.
There is a private patio with a double table-seat and a private car parking space. The rental price includes water, gas, electricity, linen and towels. The Garden Flat is a cosy base for an individual or a couple.
The absence of stairs, and the incorporation of other features, make it suitable for people with mobility impairment such as those with restricted walking.
Situated 2 miles from the centre of Glossop, a bustling market town, it is a mile from both the A624 and A57 (Snake Pass) roads and so easily reached by car. The nearest bus is one mile away and the railway, two miles away, has a half hourly service to the centre of Manchester (journey time 40 minutes).
Nestling amongst the foothills of Kinder Scout, Moorfield's location is excellent for fell walking or visiting nearby Manchester, Cheshire and Yorkshire, as well as the rest of Derbyshire.
The Garden Flat provides an excellent centre for a holiday in the Derbyshire Peak District.
