About Tegg's Nose Country Park
Tegg's Nose Country Park comprises mainly of wild untamed countryside high above Macclesfield. It offers nature lovers many rich and rewarding experiences exploring its diverse beauty which extends from meadows with scented wild flowers, to old gritstone quarries, woodland and drystone walls. The park offers a rich habitation for wildlife, with many creatures of the wild and beautiful woodland birds to see.
Tegg's Trail is a waymarked walk taking you through the best of the scenery and passing the park's most interesting features. Some of the terrain can be difficult, but there is partial wheelchair access and lovely picnic spots.
Anyone taking on the challenging Gritstone Trail from Disley to Kidsgrove will encounter the rugged and spectacular scenery of Tegg's Nose, which offers a wild and sometimes windy spot to view the undulating Cheshire landscape.
Access to the park is from the Buxton Old Road turning on the A537.
