A picture of Eastbury

The church of St James The Greater in Eastbury, Berkshire. The engraved church window by Sir Laurence Whistler (1912-2000)dedicated to the poet Edward Thomas and his wife. Other engravings by Whistler can be seen in Salisbury Cathedral; St Hugh's College, Oxford, and Moreton church in Moreton, Dorset. He was also a well known poet besides his high reputation for his artwork on glass. He was the younger brother of reknown artist Rex Whistler; 1905-1944.
