Tintagel Old Post Office, National Trust Standing apart from its modern commercial neighbours on Tintagel's main street, this low-set 14th-century yeoman's farmhouse exudes charm and beckons the curious to explore. Inside, one room is restored to show how it looked when, for a brief time in the late 19th century, it was used as the local letter receiving station. The remaining rooms are furnished with local oak pieces and a good collection of samplers from the same period. Outside, the small enclosed cottage garden offers a tranquil haven away from the hustle and bustle of the busy village street. Tintagel Castle - Visitors Centre With its spectacular location on Cornwall’s dramatic and windswept Atlantic coastline, Tintagel is a place of magic and myth where the legend of King Arthur was born. This historic spot is rich in flora and fauna and provides a breeding ground for sea birds, lizards and butterflies. Tintagel Castle is Cornwall’s most iconic site. A strong hold of the Earls of Cornwall, the castle was built in the 13th century. Now in ruins, it still has the power to inspire.
