Englefield House is a private residence that has its' origins back to Norman times, though the current building is of 17th & 18th century construction. It was painted by John Constable in 1832. The current family has been here for 300 years.

St Mark's church on the Englefield Estate was re-built in 1857. Inside contains several medieval items from it's earlier origins, several pertaining to the former owners of nearby Englefield House.
