Lesson one for Sue

Hi Sue.

You mentioned yesterday that you would like a bigger lens to get closer to the birds, well this morning I was browsing through a camera magazine and came across this and thought of you.

The following is a direct quote from the Q & A section of the PhotoPlus Magazine, April 08 edition. This particular magazine is directed at Canon Camera owners only.

“Q. I use a Canon 400D with a 75-300mm lens to take photo of wildlife-birds in particular-but struggle to get close-up shots of birds because of their shy nature. I have a limited budget and wondered if you could recommend a better lens for the job?”

“R. If you are on a budget, why not invest in a teleconverter rather than a new lens? A 2X teleconverter will cost you just £80 from Jessops and will give you a 150-600mm lens (albeit one with a maximum aperture of f/11). When you're buying a new of second-hand teleconverter, always remember to take your lens with you so that you can be sure that the two items fit together.”

Just in case you don't know Jessops is a nationwide Photographic shop. It is where I bought my gear from. The next time I am in the shopping mall I intend to make a few enquiries about getting one of these things for myself.
