Yes, an John's son (Walter Burke) died yesterday in our area, at 54 year's old, and an decent guy, he was not only an old neighbor, but one of our Scout troop father's.....I talked to his son Jeff last night on the phone for an bit. Funeral will be Sunday. Not worldy famous, he none the less ran the local county fair animal exhibits amoung other things,(we have over an million poeple in this county, an he perserved what "country" attitude there was left of it) and was well known in his church, he's the guy in this area that roasted whole pigs for community events...particualry his church. He had over come his heart problems when he came down with throat cancer, an advid "smoker" most his life. He is an example of an man that also overcame poverty as an youth also...and never suscumbed to underhanded ways in doing it, though he always has lived simply in life. Sad to see people go when they are so young in life, maybe it's the quality, not he quanity of the years.
