Aren't you in the mountain time zone Ruth? I'm in Pacific. That whole not following DST is very confusing.

Yep, we're in mountain, but in the summer the Pacific zone pushes the clocks ahead an hour for daylight savings time.  Since we don't observe it, when you push ahead an hour, you're then on the same time as us.  In the winter, we're an hour ahead of you.

I think the wisdom of us not changing our clocks is that we would rather have the extra hour of daylight in the cool of the morning instead of evening during the summer.  Consequently, it's light here by 4:30 in the summer.

G'day all, another quick visit for me this morning, 06.34 BST still, we change to GMT on 25th Ocotober, we 'gain' an hours daylight.  Can't see the point of it personally, it just makes its darker in the afternoon earlier instead of the morning. Or is that the wrong way round?? lol It's all just too confusing! Undecided
