Girvan, South Ayrshire

St.Colmon's Church is a rural church in Colmonell, a small village in the beautiful Stinchar Valley near the town of Girvan in South Ayrshire. The name is derived from St.Colmon of Ella who brought Christianity to the area. The church dates from 1772 and has exceptional stained glass windows. The River Stinchar is an important salmon river and runs close to the church. On the opposite bank stand the ruins of Craigneil Castle.
