A picture of Newbury

The Parliametarian commander, Essex, had seen the advantage of taking the high ground to the south. After loosing it to Prince Rupert's Cavaliers, he regained it and placed his cannon here to attack the Royalist armies comming up from Newbury to his east and north-east.
