I second that, Paul. It's one of those shots you just want to be in.

A really nice shot, I photograph with a Pentax ESPIO 105S (non digital) and am somewhat suspicious of the post shot manipulation of digital cameras, but I have walked in the countryside and seen morning haze before the sun burns it off. I like your shot.

Well the scene is certainly as it was Julie, ad at times, even mistier. With a canal and river nearby is this shallow valley, the mist regularly collects along here in the mornings.

Thanks for the response, I like the 'original' shot, I realise it's a different skill altogether manipulating an image in the editing process, but for me most of the fun from photography comes from 'hunting with my camera' for scenes like this, photogenic weather, capturing an insect or plant as a lepidopterist would seek a butterfly with a net, the thrill of waking to the knowledge that nature provides free photographic opportunity, this is how I've taught my daughter to photograph, to seek that excitement. I've also said to some, 'Why wait to go on holiday just to take photographs? Why not wander round your town/village/city like a tourist' Harness that thrill, it improves the quality of viewing the world. Your morning mist is what the joy of photography is all about, to me
