Symbolic of Cockermouth and Workington

The picture was taken from the South Pier Blackpool on Nov 23 2009. For me it showed the power of water, and the most recent development in an attempt to secure the promenade is ephemeral. There is a skeletal look about the Big Dipper. The promise of respite by the chink of sunshine in the background is a kind of compromise provided by Mother Nature.
