A picture of Wentworth Castle
The Corinthian Temple, built above the south lawn of Wentworth Castle in 1766, was designed to be a summerhouse for the second Earl (William Wentworth) and his family. Its Corinthian columns echo the architectural style of the Palladian Wing, and the building reflects the 'romantic theme' portrayed in so many images of 18th century life.
