Submitted by Cliff Harris(20th September 2007)

Remains of Thorney Abbey

Founded as a Benedictine monastery in 972 by St. Aethelwold, the building survived until the Dissolution by Henry VIII. All that remains now is part of the nave, serving as the parish church of St. Mary and St. Botolph.
