About Ludgershall Castle

Romantic, ruined motte and bailey castle, with building works in stone. Parts of the castle date to the 12th-century, it was converted to a Royal residence and hunting lodge in the 13th-century.

In the village there is a medieval cross.

The castle ruins are in the care of English Heritage, both the ruins and earthworks are open each day.
