The Fairlawn Hotel42 High St, Amesbury, Wiltshire, EnglandAbout The Fairlawn HotelThe Fairlawn Hotel is a fine Georgian townhouse, less than 2 miles from Stonehenge and 8 miles from Salisbury. A non-smoking hotel with atmosphere, the owners take great pride in providing a friendly and professional service. The Fairlawn Hotel is a grade 2 listed fine Georgian townhouse, conveniently situated in the small historical market town of Amesbury just off the a303. We are only about 40 miles from the lovely Roman city of Bath and about 60 miles from the outskirts of London, making Amesbury an ideal stopover for those travelling to the West Country, Devon and Cornwall. The house still retains many of the original features including a wonderful curved staircase and a rare internal wind vane. Over the last year the present owners have restored the house to some of its original glory and have completely refurbished the lounge and bar area, providing a beautiful and comfortable area for guests to relax in and browse through the library of guidebooks and local tourist information. All bedrooms are en-suite and have complimentary tea and coffee trays, colour TV, hairdryer and are comfortably furnished. The owners take care to provide a high level of cleanliness throughout the hotel. There is a unique feature dining room situated in the former wine cellar area, where the owners supply a healthy continental style breakfast, and for the more traditional, a freshly home-cooked English or Vegetarian breakfast cooked to your specific tastes. Our breakfasts are prepared using as much local produce as possible. We do not offer an evening meal but you will find a good selection of eateries within a short walk from the hotel and we can recommend some excellent country pubs a few miles away.
