About Mercure Shakespeare Stratford
The Mercure Shakespeare Hotel is a 16th century black and white Gabled Inn located in the town centre, a meeting place of writers, actors and artists since the 18th century. The Shakespeare retains much of its original architectural character but it has also benefited over the years from sympathetic and careful modernisation. Behind its distinctive gabled facade, the hotel - which has 74 en-suite bedrooms including 3 four poster rooms and 5 suites - uses antique furnishings and period decor to create a mood of relaxed elegance, while personal service and facilities combine to ensure guests want for nothing. Please note that all our rooms are non-smoking. You can enjoy a pleasant interlude every day between 14:30 and 17:30 in the delightful surroundings of Shakespeare's newly refurbished lounge. A choice of freshly-brewed teas, scones with jam and cream, delicious sandwiches and tempting pastries leavens the long march from lunch to dinner. The hotel is full of character with its oak beams, creaky floor boards and open fires, all bedrooms are named after the plays of William Shakespeare and their characters. The David Garrick Restaurant has a traditional menu and has been awarded two Rosettes. Parking charged at 5 GBP per night at the hotel. Parking located behind the hotel on Sheep Street.
