Thatched Cottage in Shepton Mallet, England

Book the Thatched Cottage in 63/67 Charlton Rd, Shepton Mallet, Somerset, England

63/67 Charlton Rd, Shepton Mallet, Somerset, England (15.9 miles, 25.5 km, direction S)
Traveller's advice circa 1790 'Sleep where the food is good, the wine plentiful and the beds comfortable.' Experience our luxury en suite rooms after enjoying a delicious meal with fine wine in one of Somerset's best \"eateries\". The Thatched Cottage is a beautiful Grade 11 restaurant and Inn with eight luxury ensuite bedrooms rooms. It lies at the heart of the Mendips and has been extensively refurbished and re-thatched to bring the buildings and the facilities up to the very highest standards. Upstairs there are 8 luxury bedrooms, each with a delightful en-suite offering a touch of real class, large comfortable beds and, if you must stay in touch, satellite TV and a broadband Internet connection will do the trick. After a hard day in the Mendips what better way to finish the day than a good meal and a good night’s sleep? Downstairs the contemporary open plan bar and dining room is not what the exterior of the building leads you to expect; light and airy with no artifacts. However there are award winning real als and wines to complement the superb meals produced by Head Chef Fabrice Belier and his team. Lighter meals and an a la carte menu are available lunch time and evenings. We also have a conference/meeting room for 28 - 45, perfect for wedding receptions and private parties. Equipped with a wide screen plasma TV and Internet connections, the room is also popular for training and company meetings. Overall we have gone for a cleaner, lighter and more open look than you might expect to find in a thatched cottage. I think our designers did well and I like the results. I feel comfortable here and I hope you do to. This is all complemented by our staff; friendly, helpful and enthusiastic, they add that old fashioned service which makes your stay here that little bit more enjoyable. The hotel is rated 4-stars by the English Tourist Council and by the AA. In addition the AA have awarded us a Rosette for the quality of the food we offer.

Weston Super Mare is ideally located for the whole of the South-West and South Wales. When planning your trip, take into account all it can offer you: the miles of sea-front and sandy beaches, the Grand Pier, the Winter Gardens, Playhouse Theatre, Sea Aquarium and great shopping. In the outlying areas of the town you have a fantastic selection of days out to Cheddar Caves, Wookey Hole, Clarks shopping Village, Mendips and Exmoor for walking, not to mention all that Bristol, Bath, Cardiff and Taunton have to offer within an hour of Weston. We have on-site parking for six cars and there are no parking restrictions in Victoria Park itself. Please contact the hotel if you have any booking or access questions.
