Macdonald Hill Valley Hotel Golf & Country Club opened as a luxury 4 star property amidst 300 acres of countryside. This is the perfect place to play a round, explore the surrounding area, or just relax, pamper, wine and dine. Hill Valley opened for Golf in 1975 and over the years has matured as a premier resort and a leader in the field of sporting entertainment, and has in the past been voted among the top 10 golfing complexes in the country. During the years, developments have seen the addition of a second 18 hole Golf course, hotel, restaurant, and function facilities. With its excellent road, rail and airport links, Macdonald Hill Valley is easily accessible from anywhere in the UK or abroad. Manchester International Airport is less than 1 hour away, Crewe (railway station) 30 minutes, Birmingham International Airport 1 hour away, Chester and Shrewsbury are just 30 minutes down the road, and Whitchurch is 1 mile away. There are currently 81 spacious bedrooms, all with private bathrooms. All rooms have colour television, tea and coffee making facilities, private telephones, and patios. A further 5 rooms are due to open in the newly refurbished club house in July 2006, along with a brand new sports bar, restaurant, conference and banqueting facilities, and new golf facilities. Following in 2007 will be the addition of a brand new Vital leisure club and technogym, with beauty suites, and 18 metre swimming pool.
