Walk to Grosmontby paul woodDrive to Goathland in the North Yorkshire Moors and look for sign posts Beck Hole when there go over the humpedbacked bridge and park up.Walking from your spot there is a gate just off the road to your left here starts your walk. The path at points follows the river quite closely and its possible on this walk to see dipper and heron and if your lucky as we were deer. The path goes through woodland and then breaks out for a short stretch to a bridge with fields at either side of you.Crossing the bridge continue through yet more woodland until reaching a large gate and a row of houses which run off to your right to the North Yorks Railway line a good viewing point to see the train should it be passing. Your on your final stretch now heading up a wide path towards the engine sheds and rolling stock of the railway. When you hit a metal gate pass through the kissing gate to its left and follow the path as it meanders upwards to the top of a small hill.At this point you will get a great view of Grosmont and the station. Take the path to your right down passed the church which if open is worth a look inside and down then into the village with its pub shops and tea rooms and art gallery and yes the North Yorkshire Railway its final station from Pickering.
