The Wensum Lodge Hotel
Bridge St, Fakenham, Norfolk, England
About The Wensum Lodge Hotel
'The Country Hotel on The Edge of Town.' Situated 3 mins walk from town centre and 10 mins from race course. Enjoy the warmth of our family run hotel, with a games room and waterside restaurant. Ideally located for Thursford. There can be few town centre hotels that enjoy a setting such as ours. The crystal clear water of the River Wensum passes the hotel's front terrace, and a stream passes through the rear garden, sets a nice scene for family fishing. Yet the market town of Fakenham is just three minutes walk away. The mill was built around 1750 and, surprisingly, was still in operation in the late 1970's when it was converted into award-winning flats and penthouses. In 1983, the old grain store took on a new lease of life when it opened as a restaurant, subsequently becoming the Wensum Lodge Hotel. We offer complimentary fishing for our guests, by the river Wensum on our doorstep, the chef will cook anything you catch! We are ideally located for The Thursford Spectacular, Golf, Fakenham Racecourse, Walsingham Shrine and Sandringham.
