About The Royal Hotel
Welcome to The Royal Hotel, the face of Ross-on-Wye and the gateway between Wales and England. The Royal is a majestic, beautiful hotel dating back to 1837. But in no way intimidating, a very friendly and warm welcome awaits you. Refurbishment work completed in December 2006 has given the building a new lease of life. We are now access-friendly into our restaurant and bar. Being a grade ll listed building has created a few problems extending this to our bedrooms, but we are working on it. The changes are fantastic, though in character. We are particularly enjoying the new ‘Riverview Bar’ and as the name suggests you can enjoy the magnificent views across the Wye Valley and river below Ross was one of the first market towns in England and is still known for its antique shops and Market Square.
