Gypsy Church in the Wood

Near to the Hampshire village of Bramdean is an area known as Bramdean Common, where a nearby wood conceals a charming secret. Although not visible from the road at the top end of the common, any visitor entering the wood for a distance of about 50 meters, will make an interesting discovery. In a small clearing stands a green-painted corrugated iron church. Built by travelling gypsies in the late 1800's/early 1900's who regularly camped on the Common, the little church was often used for worship, and still holds the occcasional service to this day.
