About East Lodge Country House Hotel

Just imagine. You’re in a famous country house set in 10 acres of glorious Derbyshire countryside where the relaxing sound of the countryside is a magnificent antidote to the sounds and stresses of the city. Yet you are within easy reach of Sheffield, Manchester, Nottingham, Derby and Leicester and only 2 hours from London. East Lodge, at 88%, is the highest rated AA 3 star hotel in the area and the only hotel in the Peak District with a Gold Award from the VisitBritain organisation. It has again been included in The Good Hotel Guide 2007. East Lodge has won the “most excellent service” award for 2005 in the Condé Nast Johansens hotel awards. So as you’d expect there is a style and charm about the hotel with its welcoming reception hall, friendly and relaxed Garden Room licensed bar and award winning restaurants. All 12 bedrooms are individually furnished and have their own distinctive personalities. There are 3 executive rooms, 3 superior rooms and 6 standard rooms. This includes a room on the ground floor with full facilities for the disabled. There is even a haunted room!! The luxury bedrooms are fully en-suite and come with all the facilities you would expect for a pleasant and relaxing overnight stay, including trouser press, colour TV with DVD players, in house movies, and high speed internet access There is a policy of no smoking throughout the hotel. The award-winning Restaurant has the well deserved accolade of 2 AA Rosettes. So whether it’s starting the day with our hearty full Derbyshire breakfast or a delicious afternoon cream tea or a memorable evening meal, accompanied by a well-chosen wine from our extensive wine list, you’ll find the food service and atmosphere right for every occasion. A feature of East Lodge is the beautiful and extensive gardens which add to the feeling of tranquillity. The Garden Room bar is an ideal place to relax with a delicious afternoon cream tea, a pre-dinner cocktail or to enjoy coffee and a “nightcap” The elegantly decorated Wye and Derwent rooms are ideal for meetings or private dining and you will find their air-conditioned ambience quite delightful. These rooms can also be used for weddings, meetings or conferences. We believe that a holiday or short break here should be a rest, allowing you to unwind, absorb the very distinct local flavour of the area - and enjoy an atmosphere of quiet contemplation and feeling of wellbeing. The comfortable ambience of East Lodge is the perfect contrast to the more cosmopolitan feel of the large hotel bar and lounge. Such is the unobtrusiveness of the surroundings and the friendly, relaxed, gentle care of the staff that you could be forgiven for spending lazy days here with a and a good book. Let us lull you into that wonderful sense of relaxation and the glow of warmth that only a satisfying day followed by an exquisite meal can bring.
