Red Lion house in the heart of the Peak National Park ,in the pretty village of Hartington known as the gateway to the famous dales of the Dove and Wolfscote dale . A peaceful posiiton set away from the centre of the village but still close enough to local amenities of the shops and pubs .
The house was originally a public house The Red Lion . It has been a private dwelling for the last eighty years and was refurbished in 2011.
The Red Lion House used to be one of the village pubs retaining some of it original features , the old range situated in the dinning area . Oak stairs and oak floors in the lounge area with stone flagged floors in the dinning room and kitchen . Occasional rugs making the cottage cosy and comfortable .One bathroom with spa bath and one separate shower room. A small flagged area at the entrance to the cottage leads into the dinning area as mentioned this has an old cast fire place( it is not in use) but provides a lovely focal point .This lovely oak beamed room leads to the kitchen with all modern conveniences, dish washer ,washer ,freezer to name a few . There is a lovely secluded patio area with lawn and garden beyond .All private. The separate lounge on the ground floor boasts oak beams and oak flooring the dinning area has a beautiful flag stoned floor with occasional rugs for comfort. The lounge has an stone fireplace not in use ,and a sofa to stretch out on.
The oak stair case leads to 3 bedrooms a double en-suite with shower room one twin bedded room and double bedroom . There is an en-suite with the master bedroom and an additional bathroom with spa bath and shower.
Furnishings and fabrics have been carefully co-ordinated throughout this delightful property . The bedrooms and lounge look out towards the open field and village church
Walking is from the doorstep into the beautiful Peak district or into the village with its duck pond several pubs ,country hotel ,cheese shop.
A lovely central position ideal to explore the many attractions this area has to offer. Chatsworth House/ Haddon Hall/Alton Towers are a short drive . Sun catches the rear of the cottage later in the day and wakes at the front making the patio garden a lovely area to sit and relax.
Electric oven , microwave fridge/freezer. washer. dishwasher. Colour TV. video/dvd/ Off road parking . External lighting . Garden furniture. Llinen provided not towels .Patio. Lawn area, barbeque.
Pretty Hartington village in which the Red Lion is situated is the gateway to the dales following the Dove Valley to Berrisford Dale,Wolfscote Dale ,Mill Dale and Dove Dale. Cycle trails from Parsley Hay , Hulme End and Manifold Traill. Derwent and Lady Bower Dams, Kinder Scout and Jacobs Ladder a short drive. All from the relaxing base of The Red Lion-Hartington
